Sol Liquefio: Melting Sun (Passion Flower)

The Passion Flower is a deep soul. Its fire energy is akin to the red embers of a campfire that re-energizes itself when more wood is added. The plant is a climbing vine which forms green curtains in woody thickets of the southeastern United States and other tropical locations. A great deal of symbolism accompanies this flower. It is regarded as a representation of the Crucifixion. It is also believed that St. Francis of Assisi had a vision of this plant growing on the Cross. Spanish explorers deemed it, the Passion Flower, and each part of the blossom had a special meaning in their religious iconography.

Poised above the plant is a silent and most unusual insect of the South. A long time ago, in the days of ancient Greece, this insect was named Mantis, or the Prophet.
